Don Hatton - Team Rider:
Don was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island where he resides with his wife Natalie. He has four grown children, sons Kevin and Jason, and daughters Chelsea and Alexandra. The family is very supportive and involved in Don's Rally adventures.
A successful Business Owner, Public Speaker and Adventure Sport enthusiast Don is very involved in his community. Don was a Director on the local Sportsplex and a former Director and President of the local Community Policing Advisory Committee. He has competed in Mountain Bike Racing both in Distance Events and Sprint Races. He has also been successful in completing several 24-hour Mountain Bike races in Whistler, BC.
Don's journey began with a dream to compete in the Dakar Rally, four years later he has since expanded his dream and now participates in the major world championship rally raids. He has successfully competed in the Shamrock Rally of Morocco twice and the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge once. Don has made 3 attempts to finish the Dakar, thwarted once by the complete cancellation of the race, once by a major crash, and once by mechanical issues. He is determined to do something 60% of the riders are unable to do, that's complete the Dakar.
Don's goals for 2010 are:
1 - Compete in all rounds of the Rally World Championship.
2 - Take his motorcycle dealership ”Duncan Motorsports” to the position of the number one choice for riders in all categories of motorcycling, by making it a fun place to hang out.

Natalie Hatton - Administrative Support:
As Don’s wife, Natalie supports his dream of racing in the Dakar Rally but is hoping that one day he will get it out of his system, its to nerve wracking. She has watched this extreme race with Don on television throughout the years and has now learned first hand the extent of administrative work it takes to get to the starting line.
Natalie currently resides in the Cowichan Valley with Don and their children, Kevin, Jason, Chelsea, and Alexandra. She knows that Don has both the determination and will to make it to the finish line in Dakar! She has provided untold moral and administrative support to all Don's previous efforts and continues to be Don's number 1 fan and contributor.
Natalie is very interested in helping the local communities that host the major rallys through her contributions to organizations such as Wheels 2 Africa.

Kevan Ibbotson (aka Dirt Pig) - Media Relations:
Kevan grew up on motorcycles. He says "My dad had enduro bikes when I was a kid and after my first ride I was hooked. That was 1974. Since then I have ridden or owned pretty much every manner of motorcycles from dirt bikes to Goldwings."
After 25 years of the financial services industry – better known as banking – Kevan is now a part time motorcycle instructor and mortgage broker industry trainer. He brings no previous media relations experience or ability to the team other than his pure enthusiasm.
When Kevan is not teaching new riders or dim whit mortgage brokers he and his wife Karen are either traveling, or planning their next trip, or just coming back from a trip, usually revolving around motorcycles. Their most recent adventure was riding from their home in Nanaimo to the Arctic Circle in September 2009.

Dave O'Sullivan - Technical Support:
Dave resides in Nanaimo with his very supportive wife Lisa and three wonderful and very busy daughters, Carly, Alicia, and Erin. After 23 years in the hi-tech sector, Dave is taking a break from the working world so Don graciously offered to let him keep his web-site up to date and proof read Kevan's press releases, both of which are sorely needed!
When not pounding the keyboard for Team Rally Raid Canada, Dave can be found doing home renovations, coaching soccer, basketball, or cross country running, watching dance and band recitals, or hiking. All of which leave precious little time for riding his DRZ400S, which he needs a lot of practice on.
In the spring of 2009 Dave completed his own version of the Dakar, riding over 1,500km to the Oregon coast and back on his DRZ with a stock seat. Can you say Monkey butt. In the summer of 2009 he completed an 18,500 km journey across Canada and back with his family, but this time it was in the comfort of a truck and trailer. Maybe one day Dave will have the where with all to attempt a Dakar, until then he his happy being one step closer to it helping Don with his adventures.
